DO I PAY TO JOIN IN?
No, it’s free to sign up but you do need to commit to the requirements to raise charity funds (see the page entitled ‘Charity’). On joining you will be asked to sign a safety waiver.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
For the first few sessions gym wear will be fine but you will need a set of gloves and a gumshield as you start to progress, we can support you in sourcing and sizing to ensure you’ve got the right fit.
WHEN WILL TRAINING START?
9 weeks before our next event.
I HAVEN’T TRAINED FOR A WHILE, CAN I STILL JOIN?
Yes, we will help you get fitter and progress.
WHERE DO WE TRAIN?
As we are holding these events nationally and will tour with our own boxing equipment, we look to utilise local halls, gyms and event spaces.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL THERE BE BEFORE WE FIGHT?
Over the course of the 8 weeks, we will be offering two one hour long sessions per week of guided training (total of 16 hours)
I MIGHT MISS A SESSION, CAN I DO MY OWN TRAINING?
Ideally, we would prefer you to attend all the sessions but we understand for those with busy lifestyles this could clash. We would still recommend a minimum number of hours to ensure that you’re ready but you can discuss this with your coach on sign up.
WHEN DOES SPARRING START?
Everyone will progress at their own pace with guided training and support. Light sparring would begin at week 4.
WHAT DOES WBT EXPECT FROM ME?
As this is a combat sport you will be expected to do your very best in the sessions and arrive with a champion spirit in every session. With this in mind we would also need you to support the passion of the trainers and a charity of your choice through minimum ticket sales and a donation to a charity.
